**This was one of those match ups that I wished both teams would win. At least it went into OT and the Isles got a point.
**Lol, Vanek is always so chill on the shootout, you can't help but laugh a little. Every one of this SO goals looks pretty much the same.
**Buffalo is definitely in their rebuilding period, it'll get better buffalo! Glad to see though there was finally a win!
**When they figure that one out they could be a failry formidable opponent. until then they are just a team that consistently allows oponents back into the game when it should be theirs to win. sigh.
**So annoyed with these tight losses. Btw, why is Okposo on the 1st line STILL??? Must be a "diversity" thing or something. Can't think of any other reason why he's still there. He simply doesn't belong on the 1st line.
**he's a big bodied guy who can add a physical element in the corners to help your skill players. you forget in the playoffs last year, aside from tavares, he was your next best player against the pens and looked great. it's kind of how lucic gets a top line role a lot of the time, he creates space. Okposo just needs to bring the intensity all the time like he did in the playoffs.
**exactly right. There's a bandwagon forming of anti-Okposo among Isles fans and I disagree with them 98%. People easily forget and become histrionic way too quickly these days.
**Histrionic? How so? Just for having a performance-based opinion? It's not that he's a poor player, he's just not a 1st liner. There's a bandwagon for a very good reason. Common sense should make that evident.
**He may not belong on the top line, but i do not think it is a simple matter, when on his game his physical presence is an offensive asset. he did however botch at least two passes behind players when on odd man rushes. Cappy has been mixing lines a lot lately, so he may be on different line soon. maybe we will see strome sooner rather than later if isles keep playing sloppy. but okposo wont be scratched for any other player, at least not for anything he has done(or not done0 to this pooint. defense is more the issue for isles so far.
**John Scott your soooo tough pushing guys down on the faceoff - glad clutterbuck leveled you and had you all fired up chasing him around the ice haha prob the highlight of the game
**I dislike scott as much as the next person, but how come boulton wouldn't go with him, and instead took on a smaller middleweight in McCormick... And you guys had Michael Haley and Trevor Gillies, you can't talk about class when it comes to enforcers.
**hey hey hey, we HAD those two, who were goons, and isles managment made correct decision to let them go. boulton prob made right choice not to fight him, scott may actually be a different species. sidenote, boulton had reasonably nice offensive game tonight. Buffalo fans: where was the busload of Buffalo faithful that often has made the trip down to the coliseum in the past? we could have used them to fill in some seats at the old barn!
**Okposo is playing horribly. Every time he plays the puck it seems it ends in some sort of unforced turnover. Very disappointed with this loss, it seems we can never win a game unless we lead by 3. 2-2-2 isn't horrible, but the only thing that is saving us is how surprisingly brutal the Metro division is so far.
**exactly, 2-2-2 is not horrible, but i am left with just a flat empty longing for something better kind of feeling after watching 6 isles games this year. i was about to be mad about this islanders win becuase they played so poorly, then it turned into a loss and i was just dumbfounded.
**Gutsy win from the boys, coming back from a goal behind 3 times. Miller played well and I love the approach of just snipe it from Ennis and Vanek in the shootout. Go Sabres!
**Happy to see a win. Miller deserved it. He has been great. He is the right goalie for USA hockey and the Sabres. As for Regier that is another story. No faith in him right now. Fans here deserve more!
**FINALLY! That monkey was getting SO HEAVY - I need to see a chiropractor. Hopefully this is the beginning of Buffalo hockey that doesn't look like pre-season in the AHL. Well done, boys! Enjoy Miller before he leaves in a few months...and takes Vanek with him
**Why does Scott get to play for anyone ?? he is brutal to see on the ice ....unless fighting I guess. -2 tonight and that's only because of limited ice time....get it together Buffalo and let this trash go away.
**The team doesn't practice and they win. That tells you something about the coaching. It looks like the team won this one for themselves. It was nice to see the Stafford-Ennis-Foligno line clicking again. Now comes the real test...can the team win at home against the Canucks?
**hey you boys are racking up points in losses at least. those single points could turn things around quick if you guys string together a few wins. instead of basement dwelling right now you are kind of in the middle still. just looking for some silver lining.
**Tough loss for the Isles but something good to take away from this game was that no matter who he's paired with Tavares always has someone to back him up when he's being roughed up more than just a little bit. Oh, and why was Strait dressed and Donovan scratched?... I have nothing against him but he's not playing smart hockey as of late
**Strait messed up bad and cost us a goal tonight by not getting the puck out on an easy clear. Donovan messed up worse and cost us two goals vs Chicago by completely missing his assignment and leaving a guy wide open. Strait has been more consistent, and I bet this is to make sure Donovan knows blatant errors like that won't be tolerable.
**Strait is a good hockey player in terms of skill, but makes so many bad decisions. If you remember he made stupid mistakes that ended up in the Pens scoring in the playoffs last year. I agree, Donovan should have been playing instead of Strait. He should be a good backup when our normal D are injured or tired.
**Strait failed the dump twice in the same game and didn't clear the front of the net like he's assigned to if the Isles have to take a chance on someone on D then Donovan in my opinion makes more sense
**The season is young, they will get better. Hey, your guys only won 2-1 and the 'bres were 0-7 on the pp. I have faith. The D and goaltending is keeping them in games. Once the youngsters learn some confidence and score they will be competitive. The only games they played bad were Pitt and Columbus!
**I love Miller, but trade or no trade, he'll have the option to walk at the end of season if he so chooses. And as much as I'd like him to stay, I really think he should go somewhere more promising for his own sake.
**Lol, Vanek is always so chill on the shootout, you can't help but laugh a little. Every one of this SO goals looks pretty much the same.
