**I thought that this was a great game and wish we could have won. Panik is a great up and comer who will learn from his mistake. He did a great job setting up one goal and did not cost us the game. Our complete and total failure on the penalty kills cost us this game. We can not turn every penalty into an automatic goal by the other team. There was a point in the final minute not shown in the highlight where a lightning penalty killer is closer to a loose puck, but is beaten by pitt players who simply wanted it more. The better team won this game. Maybe next time we will be the better team.
**new drinking game. everytime tampa lets a goal in/take a penalty during the first minute of any period. chug your beer. this happens way too often and its annoying to see.
**who cares if the ref helped Stamkos off? maybe if he took stammers stick and played for him you could complain, but he just gave a push....that was on the penguins failure to pay attention to peoples location on the ice
**Seriously? If a ref helped Crosby off the ice in a similar situation, all the haters would be out. Never saw a ref help a player before.
**Great game Pens, still have some work to do .. losing a few is not bad either as it keeps you honest and makes sure that the weak spots are always getting a make over!
**it is hard to stop deflections especially when it hits 2 people. I thought fluery did a good job, good enough to win anyways. that's all that counts at the end of the day.
**could people please watch the goals before that already start in on Fleury? What like 3 deflections? A Stamkos snipe with 3 TB forwards crashing the net? Oh no! The game brought his season save % to .930
**matt cooke's not on our team anymore savard and you guys won in the conference final last year savard. just embrace your retirement and stop hating
**Savard18 is probably a reference to Denis Savard, who wore number 18, never played on the B's (although he was a hawk so I guess "won in the conference final still stands"), and played in the 80's and 90's
**dumb comment fleury had some crazy shots on him he played great and stuck in long enough to come away with a win pens played way better for fleury then zatkoff feel he got shafted in the defenseive zone pens need to play defense everynight and good game guys Go Pens oh and good to see Crosby back in first for points oh and look at that 5 goals in 20 shots Ovy only needed twice as many to keep up what a sniper 38 shots 5 goals there is your compairison
**People keep talking about the penalty at the end but no mention of how Stamkos got pushed off the ice by a ref cause his skate broke. Have seen that happen before but the ref never bothered. The refs job is to watch the game not help a player get to the bench cause his blade broke. The penguins deserved that last penalty... Was still an intense game.
**First of all, there is no rule that states a Ref can not assist a player with broken equipment to the bench, this is a safety hazard just like loosing your helmet. Second of all, the ref only pushed him about half way. Third of all, Orpik should have been called for Diving, Fourth of all, Panik shouldnt have made that trip, Fifth of all, Good Game.
**The refs never help the players even if they are injured until there is a stoppage of play. Why should they help a player just because of a broken skate? But I agree ,good game from both teams!
**how is he reffing the game if hes pushing a player off the ice maybe misses a call to help Stamkos refs are suppose to be bias and not help either team win whats next refs on the ice grabbing sticks for players when they break them he cant be watching the game while helping a player off the ice ive seen players laying on the ice until the whistle but i guess they arent in harms way oh and there was a guy without his helmet didnt see the ref grabbing him one mid play i believe it was Vitale so your wrong on 2 of those so far you missed the fact that he interfered with the ongoing game and pushed him into Martin which distracted martin who missed the guy coming on the ice who scored the goal
**who cares, it was one of there few correct calls. You guys found and bought the refs outside the stadium. Love the name too. Makes me feel good when a deserving superstar shows up all the haters. So sad
**Um, if there's any team that definitely does NOT have refs bought out, it's the Lightning. This has nothing to do with this game, just generally over all the years I've watched them, the Bolts don't get many favors from the zebras.
**So begins Crosbys rain of terror on the NHL. Although i immensely disliked Ovi for the better part of 3 seasons, the guy is proving me wrong. Glad to have him back as a superstar. Its good for the game.
**The thing that gets me about the last penalty is, the ref was almost at the blueline not even looking at how the guy got tripped up, and he turns around at the right moment, sees a guy on the ice and instantly raises is hand.
**After watching the highlights I'd rather listen to the Tampa announcers call Pens games. They knew who got the goals, knew that pucks were deflected from what I heard didn't make any T.B. players out to be heroes when they did their job and back checked unlike Steigerwald when Malkin back checked one time after taking a dumb penalty. Also, when are they going to learn that when you start bragging about a guy like Stamkos not scoring on home ice against your team.... he will. Please Pittsburgh get rid of Steigerwald and Errey!!!
** I'm rewatching the game right now. Saw an ugly turnover in the 1st period that led to the Martin penalty, but the first goal had a drastic change in direction about 6-7' in front of him so I'm not sure what he should've done. Might just be a low shot total by a potent offense
**I would only blame Fleury for two the goals that have gotten by him so far this year. Deflections and missed assignments by D-men are to blame.
**Good game, oh man what a canon Stamkos has tho!! I'm always so impressed by his quick realese and aim! The Stamkos - Crosby line in the olympics will be deadly, probably will sh*t my pants every time that line steps out vs Sweden!
**he most amazing thing that my fellow you-haterz forgot to mention is that your club benefited more than any of the many teams that had him got to, and that "him" is chris pronger. just so ignant. Lucky nobody dropped a hat on him before he helped you win your cups. I read he still has problems with everyday life. ur such a
**Great game pens, congrats on the hat trick crosby. Not a smart penalty by Panik, but if you watched closely on the pp, that one timer to niskinanen was open ALL NIGHT. I kept yelling for St. Louis to get his stick in the passing lane, but he didn't hear me, especially on the last one. As for the bolts, it just wasn't our night. We were real unlucky when Stammer's stick broke and the his skate lost and edge. Were got tought breaks(like Stammer hitting the post) and got stingy penalty calls(except for Panik's, that was obvious). Overall good effort, and lets move on, we got the Kings coming to town on tuesday.
**If you'd like to see ice in winter, just bring yourself to Tampa, head downtown, and go skate on the outdoor rink we set up every year now.
**Datsucks wouldnt campair a player who isnt evena point per game to a guy running a 1.414 ppg 4th in NHL history But if you want to get honest Zetterbergh and Datsyuk combined into one player might be able to compair would even be able to say Zettersyuk would be a little over Crosby but then Crosby would pratice all summer and come back even better thats just who he is
