Stars edge Coyotes, pull even in wild-card race

**Stars are an under the radar scary team for me. They just play with so much speed. I know as an anaheim fan theyre one of the teams that, when I see them on the schedule, I know we're in for a rough night. They match up well. And Goligoski finally getting over the trade hangover bodes well.

**Good game Dallas tough pill to swallow as a coyote fan but things Will get better I believe things are going to change. To many players not doing the job they are being paid to do, Maloney has to change the line-up and get some guys in the locker room who can bring it for more than one night here and there. Good luck to all the Olympic players and good luck to my coyotes. I still think we will figure things out but not with the roster we have now time for talk is over GMDM please make some much needed changes.

**Man, the moderators really don't want me to congratulate Phoenix for a good game; or to point out that Dallas is back in the playoffs. 3rd attempt.

**Great team win boys, love to see Ray get a goal too. Stars probably didn't want to stop playing together, but it gives them something to look forward too after the break. GO STARS!

**I wonder what Jim Nill will do. Dallas is playing well enough to get in at the moment, but they have been jekyll and Hyde this year. Whitney is a big question mark. But the Stars may be buyers when we come back from Sochi. I dunno how psyched I am about that lol.

**I feel your pain but I really think that the boys are starting to come together. The break gives Robidas time to heal & I fully expect to see him sooner than later. Kari has stepped it up as well and the other D have come together as well. I am pumped, I think we can do it! Gotta keep the team intact, would be a shame to waste what looks very good these days! GO STARS!!!

**This is a sticky situation with the team suddenly finding itself in the top 8 in the West. I'm quite certain management does not want to sacrifice the future for a playoff run this year, but the team does need better defense (a "true" fix is not possible this season) and definitely some secondary scoring, which I think is very doable. Considering that all of Whitney, Chiasson, Cole, and Peverley cannot be counted on for being consistent secondary scoring threats, it would be worth exploring someone like Michalek if Ottawa keeps sliding. At 29 years of age, Michalek can be a good 4-5 year term player for the Stars, provided he stays healthy.

**Will not anger the hockey Gods but your boys just coughed up the division lead! Guess the Hawks have plenty of reason to have their heads in Sochi, 10 of them will be there! On behalf of my buddy, good luck the rest of the way! Would not want to meet Chi in any round lol!

**When you adjust for games in hand, the Blackhawks and Ducks have been trailing the Blues by a couple points all season. The Blues' differential of wins minus reg. losses has been consistently higher by a couple wins. That differential plus games played equates to total points. Right now, unlike the energized Blues, it seems like the Blackhawks are tired and bored. Need to recharge after Sochi.

Ducks snap slide by beating Predators

**Good job Ducks and good job Getz!! I hope he has a game or two like this while he's wearing the Team Canada Jersey! :D

**Another Sbisa penalty resulting in a goal, and people getting trolled by what I can only assume is a male stripper. Good job Tazer, you presented absolutely no facts and got people to bite. I'm sure your "Yay people noticed me" need has been satiated, you internet all-star you.

**Good comeback Ducks! Looked like u did back when we had a nice winning streak. Now to come back strong and focused. I have a feeling Selanne has been playing safe and not pushing himself to the fullest to avoid injury, just play his heart out for Fins. And i wouldn't be surprised if he comes back playing harder and like his usual self for the remaining of the season. He might make us want him back for another season! :/ Oh and good game Preds!

**Bruce thinks the Ducks played a real good game against Chicago? Looked like men vs boys to me.

**Yeah Chicago has a little growing up to do before they can match the Ducks, you're right.

**To be an a$$h0le? Well, obviously. Cruising other teams' boards and only responding to people who don't refute everything you say with facts. You're a great representation of hawks fans.... (PS I know he's not...most of 'em are great.)

**At least they didn't struggle and average less than 12000 of attendance from 1997 to 2007 in a city with 10 Million inhabitants. They have a packed building night in and night out wether they make the playoffs or not.

**Blackhawks fan since 2009 ? where were you from 1997 to 2008 when your team was at the bottom and struggling with 12000 of average attendance in a 10 million inhabitants city ? Oh my bad you became a fan in 2009 when they won a cup woohoo...

**It's okay to become a Chicago Blackhawks fan in 2009/2010 season when they win eh but then don't brag about it forever and stop trashtalking Philly fans who didn't wait for a cup to show up.

**Getzlaf has of course always been an incredible player but he's never scored goals at this pace before. For a guy that's never had thirty in a season, it's looking like he could pass forty this year.

**4 playoff chokes in the past 6 years. Other 2 seasons didnt even make the playoffs. A reliance on the top line and young defencemen will get Anaheim nowhere. Enjoy your 2nd round exit. I would take the Kings and Sharks any day over the Ducks in the playoffs. Top 5 teams in the NHL to fans who realize the Ducks are pretenders: Blackhawks Blues Penguins Bruins Sharks

**The Ducks pretty much roll 3 2nd lines every game. The defense is certainly young, but you're really talking about the Shark winning when they haven't even gotten to a Cup Final?

**So? We've been there three times in a row. You can see that's really helped us out. The Sharks are a formidable squad with good goaltending and potentially the most talented pure scorer to come along maybe since Ovi. Losing him didn't help their chances either.

**Ducks have not done well in the playoffs recently, but what you fail to notice is this is a completely different team. You go ahead and keep believing your fake rankings. We're used to it.

**still bitter over 2010 huh? Giroux cant even make Team Canada. Jealy much? Born and raised in Chicago and had a Hawks jersey since I could walk. Bandwagon Giroux fan

**and you were born in 2009 then ? Otherwise you wouldn't be saying Chicago is a better sports town than Philly and you'd know that blackhawks struggled heavily and has less than 12000 of attendance from 1997 to 2007 when they were at the bottom of the league while Flyers sell out night in and night out wether they make the playoffs or not.

**A blackhawks fan who ranks the top 5 teams in the nhl ranks .........the blackhawks as number 1 no surprise there. Are we pretenders? I mean yeah we lost in the playoffs but every season is a new season. You must not know anything about hockey man bc if you want to play the history game, well, that is my specialty. 1st lets talk about the Sharks now. 02-13, 9 playoff appearances, 0 Stanley Cups, 3 conferences finals, 4 conference semifinals and 2 conference quarterfinals(1 lost to Ducks) 2nd is the kings. 02-13, 4 playoff appearances, 1 Stanley Cup (won), 1 conference final, 0 conference semifinals and 2 conference quarterfinals. 3rd are the Ducks. 02-13, 7 playoff appearances, 2 Stanley Cups (1 Won), 1 conference final, 1 conference semifinal and 3 conference quarterfinal. So are we done playing the history game bc if history tells us anything the Ducks have fared way better than both those teams in the playoffs being to 2 Stanley cups while the kings 1 and the sharks 0 and if you noticed the sharks failed to beat us in the playoffs so yeah t=the Ducks already have one over the sharks. But that is history if the Ducks go on to win the Cup I hope we beat the blackhawks to make you look like more of a fool. Learn the game of hockey dude, anything can happen so we shall see who wins and who loses.

Capitals blank Devils as Brouillette scores 1st goal

**The proof of the pudding will be how the Caps play coming out of the break. 2 wins is nice, but the Caps' last W3 was posted on December 10, and their last 4-game win streak (the best they've done all season!) was early November. To be fair, they did take 23 of 26 possible points last April, and there are enough guys who were here in 2008 when "Don't Stop Believin'" was suddenly cool again in DC. If any team can finish strong, it's the Caps. And if Kuznetsov is on the plane with Ovechkin coming back from Sochi, things could get very interesting, very quickly. It could be a most intriguing couple of weeks in Washington, even with no games being played. Stay tuned.

**The one thing you should hope for is Ovechkin going on a goal scoring blitz in the playoffs. 60 goals during the season is nice, but if he really wants to earn his salary and get mentioned in the same breath of Gretzky, Lemieux, Bossy, etc,, he has to average more than one goal per game in the playoffs. Only then will Caps be truly feared. And of course Caps have to make playoffs first which is likely but still not guaranteed.

**This is a positive sign. But a lot can happen over the break. I'm not sure what they need to do, but if Oates can get them into the right mindset they'll go on a tear. If not, well it'll be another frustrating spring. My hope is Ovi does great in the Olympics and comes back fired up. So only time will tell.

**Devils lose AGAIN and people still picking them to make the playoffs??? Even the eternal mediocre Blue Jackets and Leafs have a better chance.

**Perhaps those so-called I d I o t s know from long experience never to discount the Devils until it's mathematically impossible...and you don't share that experience and wisdom.

**Good way for Ovi and the Caps to end before the Sochi Olympic break. I'm sure Ovechkin is thrilled to have 40 goals this will give him some confidence for Team Russia in Sochi.

**What offensive system? This team is non-functional. Devils never were a high scoring team, but they always had players who regularly put pucks in net. They need a system, but Pete DB is clueless. I don't know how much longer they can keep up with the pack of other teams, but my optimism is quickly evaporating.

**We do have players who can put it in the net, Parise and the Russian weren't the only ones - but those that do remain are playing with one hand tied behind their backs with this coach. How long they will want to stay in such a team is what worries me.

**Excuse me, is that a joke or what? As a Caps fan, for you to say Erskine is the worst defenseman in the league is absurd. Did you just show up this season? Have you not watched Jeff Schultz the last six years? C'mon man.

**I hate the 2.5 week break for the Olympics. I'd much rather see guys getting paid for playing NHL hockey doing just that and the Olympic spots going to back to 'amateurs'. Caps need to bench Orlov, he's awful yet he continues to start, I don't understand why since Oleksy was much better and has spunk. I'm sure Brouillette was pumped with his parents in the stands. Holtby looked great tonight and I'm glad his good play is starting to register with Oates. WTG Caps, 2 in a row, please keep the momentum after the Olympic break!

**in not defend them...but that officiating was god awefull... every penalty jersey got a bs call and all caps did was embelish and get away with it.. bernier gionta zubrus all horrible calls. but anyway devils are too old and deboer needs to be fired.... this team is just a cycle team no goal scorers...ruders done nothing either

**I was at the game, only Devils fan in my section. Cheering loudly and proudly, for all we seem to have left is a waning moon of hope for the playoffs. I got trash-talked, I gave it right back to them, and had a great time regardless of the outcome of the game. I just don't know what to say anymore, this team is so disappointing this year, and with no first round draft pick, I have no idea what magic Lou will work. All I still have left is blind hope. Go Devils, and good luck to all Olympians...

**Caps need Kuznetsov. Take pressure off Ovi. With Kuznetsov, D no take away Ovi on PP too. Need goalie raffle; put names in hat, club 2 offer best D-man draw from hat. Ovi good passer but handcuff teammate- not ready.

**Good for Erat getting a goal, but now he can't break the record for most assists in a season with 0 goals. The record is 25, and for a forward is just 15. I believe Erat entered the game with 23 assists, so he had the forward record all locked up already! Coulda made history, man! Haha

**It may well have made for good insurance, but statistically, it wasn't the GWG. Statistically, the GWG goes to the goal of margin, whenever it happens to be scored. So for a shutout, the first goal by the winning team is the GWG. If the final had been, say, Caps 7-Devils 3, the Caps' 4th goal (in this example) would be considered the GWG. The Capitals record for most goals in a game is 12, in a game against the Nordiques, who only managed 2 goals that game. For that game, goal #3 by Washington would statistically be the GWG.

**I don't know, a few of those chances that went off the post/missed slightly could have very well gone in and made this a different game. I think it speaks to a team's confidence whether those kinds of goals are going in or not.... but the chances were there nonetheless

Avalanche top Islanders to end trip on high note

**The Isles are the first team to get to 200 goals against, snatching that honor away from the Oilers. Man they need some D & a goalie bad, hope guys will be more willing to sign once they're in Brooklyn.

**Laughable officiating in the third, though I'm happy the Avs showed resilience and extremely happy to see Duchene net 100 and 101! Good luck to Varly, Stats, Dutchie, and Landy in Sochi!

**MacKinnon, 22nd, seriously? lolll kid is such a monster! So glad Avs took him! Way to get franchise back on track!!

**So, are the Isle keeping their 1st this year or using it next year? Buffalo fans, what do you want? If I was a Buffalo fan, I would want the first next year. Have as many shots at McDavid as I can get.

**I hope Islanders will end in this season fast, because the not let go healthy visnovsky on olympiad. Yes sure he is not ok, that is why he spend on ice so much time. Gosh Islanders managment full of idiots

**Someone tell me please how is possible that Visnovsky didnt go to Olympics (Symptoms of concussion) and tonight he played NHL game, 100% fit, 2 points in the game and no problem.

**Duchene made my sons 1st game unforgettable. We made a sign to Duchene saying 1st game how about a puck. And he pointed him out and tossed him a puck. WHAT A GREAT GUY and player. Now my sons fav player for life. GOOOO AVS!!!!!!

**Despite another almost blown lead, this was a good win. Good job Dutchy, hopefully you can gain that scoring touch back after the break! Also, MacKinnon is a total beast! Just goes to show that you don't go blindly Drafting players that the media tells you to.

**Everyone wanted Jones to get picked 1st Overall. When it was announced that Roy/Sakic were taking MacK, it was just a storm of people bashing the Avs for passing on Jones.

**Two of his assists were basically a non factor in the play. His assist on Duchene's second was nice, but the whole rest of the game I didn't notice him at all. The other three guys were all over the ice all game and I agree with the stars

**Good to see Duchene get a couple goals before the Olympics, nice win Avs! Also that Mackinnon is an absolute stud if he doesn't win the Calder it will be a joke, definitely the right choice in drafting him.

**The only thing nice about this game was the stadium series jersey.....*sigh* there go any hopes of making the playoffs :/ At this point, how about they just lose every game until the end of the season and try to beat out buffalo for that 1st overall pick?

**To bad they only scored because of 5 penalty's called in 4 minutes, i thought Jiggy was going for a shutout until those 5 on 3's happened.

**Vanek is a great player, but he denied the Islander's contract offer so he is not going to be an Isle for much longer. In my opinion, Buffalo won that trade. Moulson and Tavares had much better chemistry. The Islanders got s crewed on that deal. Really stinks for The Isles.

**It's not even opinion that Buffalo won the trade, it's fact! They got a 1st and 2nd rounder out of the deal as well, and Vanek does not even want to play on New York. Even if Moulson walks away from Buffalo too, they still can laugh all day while picking two times in the top 10

**actually nyi can defer to next year and lose the 2nd rounder this year 1st next year. Tavares, strome, okposo, Reinhardt and pulock are a good core just need to develop 3 of them

**As much as it would mean admitting that they were wrong, and giving a solid apology for sending him to the worst team in the NHL, I really think Isles should be at least trying to get Moulson back. You can't buy chemistry, and he has shown a lot of class through the whole thing. Just get the guy back, fools!

**5-2?? Did I miss something? hahaha! On another note i thought we played very well until we started taking penalties. So happy for Dutchy to get 100!! (and 101). Good luck to all the Avs going to Sochi. Go Avs Go!

**Jack can't take this team any further. He did well to a point but they need an in your face coach and some more in your face players. Accountability! How can you not feel for JT right now. He busts it out night after night and only a few of these guys are responding. Avs have a good young team

**JT deserves better, idk whether it's the management or if he needs more talent around him though. If it's talent that could be fixed as early as next season, if not........

**Then how do you explain Winnipeg and Philly? Fired their coaches and got much better production from teams with average talent.

**I wouldnt compare us to you. We've actually got a lot of talent, they just need to mesh together, which theyve done recently.

**You know you don't know anything about hockey when you don't know that throwing your stick at an opposing player while he shoots on an empty net will result in a goal.

**Mackinnon is an absolute beast and is now leading the Avalanche in goals averaging less ice time than the other top forwards

Killorn's late goal lifts Lightning past Red Wings

**Most of the game was played in front of Bishop and Howard had an easy night. Maybe they couldn't think of any other player who deserved a star.

**Good win before the break. Godspeed to MSL and the other Bolts in the Olympics while Stammer get's the extra time to fully heal the leg just in time for a run at the Cup.

**Some dirty plays by the wings in the late game, other than that it was flawless. The bolts fans did a wonderful job of showing up the snowbirds, I was there I know. Good game, Go bolts, hope the wings start climbing up the standings again now that their stars are back.

**That second bolts goal still stings. Loved how the wings played for the first two periods and in their recent games I always felt they finally really play to win (Howard, Zeta, Goose, Tarts, Jurco .. they really show up!). I like the Lightning organization and bishop especially but losing for the fourth time this season doens't really make me happy. Cudos the Bolts and LETS GO RED WINGS!

**Well one step forward and two steps back with this one loss. Hopefully no injuries during Sochi and then the Wings must start some kind of run after or else playoff chances will start slipping lower and lower..

**Detroit is finding out the east is not the easy mark your fans thought lol. You defense stinks and i know because my flyers have the same issues at times then again we beat your team twice including a shutout and a great come from behind win IN Detroit yout team is NOT the great team it was!

**Don't be a dicĸ. Most of our fans, the intelligent ones anyways didn't think it would be easy this year. There were a lot of other western team's fans saying that. Our team is NOT the great team it was.... um no shi t. Our defense stinks... no shi t. Your overwhelming joy of these facts showcases your jealousy of our success over the last 2 decades.

**I am not sure how the stars are handed out, but I have an idea that it is our overly polite home crew with a habit of throwing one to the visitors for the sake of sportsmanship. That's cool by me, but sometimes it is a little annoying, like when we outplay someone for most of 60 minutes and we had someone else on the team who deserved it. I notice when we lose on the road we rarely have one of our guys on the podium the same way...

**Anumberofguys picked upslack sinceStammerhas beengone, buthatsoff to S t L o u is, Hed manand Filppu la (beforehe gothurt) for reallykeeping t histeam init. **any 's' word, especially sho rt 's' words, like sh ot, sp ot, su ck, just add a space to the word.....its still easy to read and wont get moderated. After a while you'll get used to the words that do that and its almost automatic. Sometimes though, you just have to give up on a post......like you'll try repasting and editing it a thousand times and it wont work. At that point, just give up lol. And the sh orter the better for the most part

**Butyou'lllooksweetupontheseatofabicyclebuiltfortwo. You are magnificent. I had no idea and wouldn't have thought of this. The spacing thing is so time-consuming and then fail fail fail anyway. Would get you two thumbs-up plus a case of beer for this one if I could.

**Detroit ain't leaving Florida w/o a loss! 4-0, how does it feel, Detroit? Not too good probably, but I like it. Anyways on a serious note, that was a good game, both teams played well and it was an exciting game. Very important win seeing how Toronto and Montreal both won tonight

**How does it feel? The Wings lost a game. The sun will still rise tomorrow, and most of us will wake upl go on about our Sunday as usual. My Sundays usually start off by me putting a nice polish on all my replica Stanley Cups. Takes me about an hour to do what it would take you 5 minutes to do. Catch my drift?

**My other fav team (wings) have some things they need to work on, wouldn't think coaching is the issue here. Besides that not sure what the deal is with Howard this season but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have more focus on the goalie situation. Get another solid goalie he can compete with probably make him better.

**Since the Olympics are the hot topic now, what did everyone who watched it think about that opening cermony? Was that like an acid trip or am I alone here. Russia hides behind the iron curtain for years, so nobody knows anything about their history. Their answer is a four hour cirque de soleil full of symbolism that could only be deciphered by knowing the history and story.......history and stories nobody knows but them. Really weird. That girl flying thing was cool though.

**Rock, I don't think you would see the period leading up to the 1860's or japaneseinternmentcamps, or indian reservations in a usa Olympic show.

** enjoyed your comments - I am part american indian and even though I didn't know this until I had my genome traced it explains the way i felt growing up, my lsd trips, my inherent dislike and distrust of government and religious organizations, my connection to the earth, the anguish I experience when learn how one group of humans mistreat other for power, political gain or satisfaction of a frail ego. The Olympics could be really great if they were not usurped by the machine of politics, media hyperbole and commercial profits. But I will watch anyway and simply focus on the accomplishments of the athletes who demonstrate tremendous ability to achieve. Thanks for your comment. See you around.

**Ten years ago, they probably would have made a statement about rising out of those ashes. Now, Putin is well on his way to becoming the next great dictator on that list, and probably doesn't want to draw that kind of attention. Unfortunate, but they are (like us) heading in the wrong direction as far as freedom goes.

**It was even more blah and symbolism-filled than London's opening ceremony. I lost interest right after the snowflake failed to blossom into an olympic ring. Sochi blew this one already. Their opening ceremony left crickets chirping, their facilities were not complete (despite having 7 years to do so), their shooting of stray dogs, yellow water, terrorism threats from just over the mountains, and Putin's face that has probably never cracked a smile in it's life will all leave a bad taste in the mouths of those who attended.

Desharnais, Price lead Canadiens past Hurricanes

**I've said it before and I will say it again...Desharnais and Gallagher are bringing it with the loss of Galchenyuk..and the disappearance of Gionta and Briere...the Habs are starting to play better hockey and with the addition of Weise and White coming back, this team could do some damage down the stretch..Price is picking up his game and if Eller and Subban can play a bit smarter and generate some more offence with thier speed and strength on the puck, they could become a force to be wreckoned with in the Arlantic..Good Game Habs!!! Let's play some more like this...

**Leafs and Habs basically did the same thing last night. Start off on a 1 goal deficit then destroy the other team in the 3rd.

**It took DD some time to show his true form and silence his detractors ( mainly Habs fans). Good on him. Bourque also has improves, maybe from all the trade rumours. At first I wasn't impressed with the acquisition of Weise but after seeing his first few games I think he is a good addition. Now if only something can be done with Eller. The guy is lost out there. In the 3rd period he made 2 really poor plays. He contributes so little that I hope and pray that come Mar.5 he will be traded for someone that can contribute every game and not just every 10th or 15th. PS. Bob Cole, please retire. I can't recall how many times in the 1st period he kept repeating the shots .....and he was getting it wrong, as he does so many other things.

**Yes, Ryan white is such a good player, this guy deserves more. He brings a lot of energie on the ice, I love how he s playing, I hope he ll continue to score after the break!

**Start working from home! Great job for students, stay-at-home moms or anyone needing an extra income... You only need a computer and a reliable internet connection... Make $90 hourly and up to $12000 a month by following link at the bottom and gning up... You can have your first check by the end of this week...

**Carolina has decent talent and hussle, but the first line is too inconsistent. They are lacking in leadership...in the Brind amour-ing way. Habs will be in, Canes will be on the outside looking in, again.

**Desharnais, I've been really impressed at how he's stepped up his game the past few weeks. You're finally regaining your form back when you put up career numbers with Cole and Pacioretty back in 2011.

**Great, absolutely great, my Habs won again. Great defense the last couple games Price is ready for Socchi, Canada will be the team to beat for the final. Hope that my swiss will have a great tournament, but when they're out, my heart beats for Canada. From next tuesday on I will watch exactly 21 games, sure I'm happy about my rehab now, so I have time to watch every game ;), so to all the Hockey-countries for the next 2 weeks: best luck at Socchi, let's go!

**Price has to be the starter in Sochi, but I like the idea of starting Bobby Lu for the first game, given that he was the "guy" in Van city. That should motivate Price to take over from game 2 onward.

**I've always been a supporter of White. He brings tons of energy, finishes all his hits and is great on the PK. A defensive player who isn't that offensively skilled, I couldn't be happier about his game play for the last two games. Hopefully after the break, if Bournival has returned by then, they can get some chemistry going again and really start to terrorize other teams' bottom two lines.

**Pacioretty and Kessel are going to be dynamic on the open ice...let's hope Canada can contain them! This is the one time Leafs and Habs fans can cheer for the same team haha.

**Unlike other websites I'm amazed by how friendly this one is. We may cheer for different teams but we all cheer for the same game, Canadian and American. Now all I can say now is GO CANADA GO. Sorry Patches.

**awesome game GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**Wow, great turn-around, Habs. Really tightened up the D. Very impressive stretch of 5-1-1, giving up only 8 goals in those 7 games. Carey playing lights out. Kinda wish Habs could keep playing this way, without this 2.5 week break ahead. Well, at least some of the Habs will keep on playing .....

**In Carey we trust! Gotta love this kid, I've been following along his growth ever since he came in the league. Boy did this kid had to face adversity and now, he's killing it! So happy for him, can't wait for him to play in Sochi! Been watching hockey for over 30 years, and this kid, I tell you. He's something special, going to do great things in this league.

**I don't know if Weise is the only reason, but White is on fire recently! I hope he will keep going like that. Not necessary to score every game, but to play good hockey like he does. Other than that, Price was awesome again! Now it's time for GO CANADA GO!

**I think White's problem has always been too much fire ;) I think a buddy from his childhood days in Manitoba might keep him more even keeled. For sure he's been playing great since he got back from injury. I think his contributions to the Habs are going to become more evident as his career progresses...

**Well on paper the two teams are tied in the standings so it's hard to say one team is better at this point in time. That said I would love a Leafs-Habs playoff matchup, that way we'll really know who's better when it matters most!

**At least one good Canadian team (the Habs) will be making the playoffs. Oh, and for those who actually cheer for the Leafs, it looks like they will make it too. Other than that, it is looking doubtful.

**So you mean two? Whatever glad to see Price getting on a roll before Olympics. ;)

**It's Price and Smith for me but I think it will be Luongo in Game 1 and Price the rest of the way. But I've been wrong before.

**Well, twice I've tried to comment on this game only to me moderated.....for what... I have no idea. Maybe I should change my name to Rodney Dangerfield. Canes have the ability to win, just not the will to win. And that's why they'll most likely miss the playoffs.......again. Anyway, solid road game Habs. Hope Max is a quick healer and Price should be the starter for Canada.

Canucks collapse vs. Maple Leafs, lose 7th straight

**I wonder what super 16 editors will do now ? I think they still won't include leafs in the ranking!! What a joke

**Do you remember how everyone said the only reason the Leafs made the playoffs last year was because it was a shortened season? Well heads up ! The Leafs have a 7 point lead on the wild card cut , with 20 games to go. Kessel, JVR, and Koolie, good luck in Soshi just back off when playing Canada. Now we get to see how it feels to play against these guys.

**Nice to see the Leafs win going into the Olympic break & continue their winning ways.

**I love how the Canucks have been in a tailspin since Torts lost his mind and the Flames have been rollin'.

**It is too bad though, I'm for any Canadian team that can bring the cup home. Like the Hip sang it - ***It's been a long time coming*** common baby I hope it's the Leafs but we gotta play hard..

**Toronto is my team. I live in Oshawa which is part of the GTA. They're going to win the Cup for the 1st time since 1967. I wasn't even born yet! Go, Leafs, go!

**I think this isn't a good 'team.' The individual pieces have great talent but they don't work well together anymore. Edler isn't nearly what he used to be, or could be (a more offensive version of Kronwall when on his game, he is that good if not better). Garrison looked real promising last year but under Torts he's more average and I haven't seen the production you'd expect from him. I'd say keep the Sedins (there's no way we can replace two superstars) Bieksa and Kesler (they play with an edge), Hamhuis (our best defenseman), Tanev and Kassian obviously, Higgins (although tradeable), and hopefully Santorelli. Hansen is similar to Higgins but more tradeable even with his speed and style. Luongo and Lack are the bright spots this season. Burrows is the most difficult decision to me. So that's how I see it. Even if it is the first year under Torts. He did well early but now...At the beginning of the season we could score but were letting in a few too many. Then it came together, and now it has fallen apart.

**1) Can't stop underpaid people leaving because they want what they're worth. 2) Can't stop really good players getting older. Three years ago was three years ago. Management has done nothing but extend the window as best they could. That being said, Gillis has only just realized that trying to prop the window open at the expense of the future rebuild is only going to make it take longer when it happens.

**Vancouver is currently the worst team in the league, and I say that as a Sabres fan. After they missed that narrow window of opportunity in 2011, it's been all downhill, and with those new deals for Sedin twins, the future has to be looking seriously bleak.

**Question for TO Fans: Of the 7 other top 8 eastern teams, do you really think you can beat any of them in a 7 game first round playoff series??? And do you think you could actually win one game, not four, just one, against any of the top teams in the west in a playoff series? So enjoy your moment. It leads nowhere. ;-)

**We took Boston to a game seven last year, this year we're starting to play better and I really can't believe I'm seriously answering this fools question.. Good Game Leafs Thanks for finally putting down The Nucks and winning for me 800+ hahahaha it's the second time this weeks you guys came through..

**The leafs took the Bruins (best defensive team in the NHL) to a 7th game, and played that series like a contender. Sure, they blew a 4-1 lead with less then 9 minutes left, but if they can do that to the best defensive team, then they can do it against other teams.

**Said it before and i'll say it again the way Torts used the Sedins led to their demise in terms of injuries and skating he played them wayyy to much, hopefully they'll come back healthier and more energetic after the break

**Actually they play in the corners and the boards. They're overplayed. Early in the season they were right up with Crosby and Tavares for points.

**GG leaf, you annihilated the Nucks in the last 10 minutes, well played! Hope Luongo is readyfor the Olympics Go Canada Go!

**lol at all the people who wanted raymond out of van sooooooo badly, now they're the ones wishing he got resigned. he was one of the guys acutally producing last year and mostly played on the 3rd line. i just dont understand. and using the whole "he's now in the east and its easier scoring there" is not even a valid argument. gmmg screwed up big time

**puck daddy did a bit on burrows and his hair pulling stunt he pulled on phil the thrill tonight. Poor old Phil's flowing locks are more a trickle but regardless that's burrows. I disliked that puke from day one and it's not because he's scored a decent number of goals on the leafs in the past it's just that he's DIRTY!! Nucks woes are definitely due to numerous injuries and the chemistry with all the various NEW lines is just not there and this was mentioned by hnic crew. Grapes figures you guys will improve big time once all the injured guys return and I agree.

**Canucks at no point deserved to win tonight and Kessel is a good player but man he was trying to sell everything tonight. Gets a slash on the leg and grabs his face. or gets touched and starts shaking his wrist selling the call more then ive seen. And David Clarkson what a joke. He talks soo much trash but he has scored less goals then Tom Sestito what a bumb. And Glen Healy needs to be fired cant listen to cbc anymore such a bias channel.

Six Bruins score in rout of Senators

**What an incredible way to go to Sochi. Well done B's. Nice to see Johnson doing so well, and Soderberg...wow...very rough beginning this season but he has come about...Great solid effort.

**I hope the Olympic break does something for the Sens, with the way things are heating up in the East and how they're playing they'll not make the play-offs.

**A re You Kidding ME? Great Game Boston. I only wish that Chara was staying home Healing,Resting For the Playoff run. The Sochi games will be fun but not easy to watch. Don't drink the water boys and Good Luck. GO GO REST BRUINS

**Bruins management waiting to see what the official salary cap is for next season i suppose, otherwise should get on extending R Smith, M Bart, T Krug, D Paille. Obviously, on Iggy they are waiting to see how he holds up in the playoffs. Feel like Thorty and Quaider are ? marks for extensions

**We're still a young team. A need to improve on our own end. We'd be well up in the standings if we can figure that out. Defensively need to stop playing the puck and start playing the man. This would cut down on the extreme scrambling that Ottawa finds itself into. Offensively we are as good as any other team. The Olympic break is a good thing. GSG

**This is going to be a tough two weeks been enjoying Boston slowly creeping up to the top of the league. Finally filling the net Bergeron line really showing their offensive talent while playing great defensively can not wait for last leg of the season. Have not seen a better core since the 70's, The Bruins front office has finally gotten it right and built it to last for years to come.

**Gotta say that even though he didn't put any in the net tonight, Reilly Smith's efforts on the Bergeron line have been outstanding. His net presence, vision and speed are an understated compliment to Marchand and an undeniable force behind Bergy's scoring momentum. This line's going to mean ridiculous production in the playoff march, so watch out.

**Tough game for the Sens heading in to the break. Lehner and Anderson must have pretty strained relationships with their teammates during this season. Krejci's line has been ridiculous.

**The team is playing great going into the olympic break, but we definitely need an upgrade on D regardless of the system the Bruins use.

**Yeah I agree one of those two. Maybe McQuaid because he seems to get injured a lot. Bart could be a decent 2nd or 3rd pair defensemen when he gets more experience. And Hamilton is the future of the blueline for the B's, once he gets stronger and really uses his 6'5 size I think he will be Chara's replacement when Z retires.

**Absolute joke that Soderberg is not in swedens lineup. He is a centre and plays with eriksson. Eriksson played with the sedins and was amazing in 2010. Soderberg can replace the injured sedin, now you have chemistry. Last year Soderberg was 2nd in scoring in the SEL and the top Swedish player overall. He is basically snubbed because he came to the bruins last year.

**Yeah I guess Sweden still has a grudge. If he is really not on Team Sweden just because he left there to play in Boston that is such an unclassy and unprofessional reason to leave him off. Doesn't matter he is getting confortable in the NHL and he will start to turn it on.

**Bergy is such a great player. He can be a dominant offensive player when he wants. I looked at his stats before his first concussion and wow he had 31 goals and 73 points in 82 games in his second season and 70 points in 77 games in the next season. He doesn't put up numbers like that anymore but now he is so good defensively. Everyone said Rask and Chara were the best in the Penguins series, but no one pointed out how Bergy was matched with Sid and Chara had Malkin...

**I remember when Johnson had a couple bad games and we were demanding Svedberg be brought up, but now when I see he's in net I have all the confidence in him. Great backup goalie for us. Which makes me ask, what would you think if in the playoffs the started most games Tuukka, and some games with Johnson.

Blues top Jets in shootout, take Central Division lead

**Congrats to the Blues & their fans for taking over 1st place in the Central. Great team. The last part of the season will be very interesting to say the least.

**Your gift Winnipeg, should you make the playoffs, is a first round series with either the Ducks, Hawks or Blues. Ouch, talk about a tough conference, the question more likely is, which one of these three do you like to raise the cup this year?

**Imagine the Jets playing the Ducks in the first round of the playoffs in Teemus last year.

**That would be a fitting ending to a storybook career, definitely the best playoff scenario from that point of view, but how about a Hawks/Jets first round match up with former Hawks Ladd/Buff(not to mention the Winnipeg born stars on that team) or the Blues with Steen/Reaves?

**Are many many great Hawks fans on these boards, some of the best fans I've come across, and I've had good exchanges with a lot of them. But TLC, James, and Tazer, all with Hawks icons, are just about the worst of the worst in the entire league, and even their own fellow Hawks fans have called them out. Tazer's been doing the same thing on the Ducks board. And, I don't know about Tazer, but the other two are long-time hockey fans, not bandwagoners. I don't think they're trolls, that's an insult to trolls everywhere. Respond at your own risk and displeasure. You've been warned.

**The real Hawks fans ought to be ashamed of the trolls we have here on this board. They've been hockey fans for less than twelve months. How embarrassing.

**I'm talking about the majority here not all, but Chicago Hawks are the most arrogant fans I've met and they're just jerks and that is the reason why I cheer against them.

**The Blues are 7-2-1 last 10 games. I personally don't think the Blues played their best hockey in those game, but, and it's a big BUT, the Blues won 7 games when playing at half speed. This is what will make the Blues tough to beat in a 7 games series. LGB

**Hawks will be a different team come March. Blues have been beat in a 7 game series every time they have ever made the playoffs, so IDK how they would be tough to beat in a 7 game series.

**Hey Tazer- if anything, your Hawks have shown you that this year is that they can't close games in overtime. They have so many overtime losses meaning THEY CAN'T GET THE JOB DONE. So, come playoff time, I'd be scared if I were you.

**It takes stars to win a Stanley Cup in today's NHL. Crosyb and Malkin 2009. Toews Kane Hossa Keith 2010. Chara Bergeron Thomas 2011. Quick Carter Doughty 2012. 2013 you know who. Petro and Steen are no where near superstars. Backes and Oshie are top 40 players at best. Halak and Elliot are average. No stars no cup

**Using the same logic, the Hawks have lost all seven game series too, except for the years in which they have won the Cup. I'm gonna echo what Nick says here; "Cmon man"

**the officiating for this game was the worst I've seen since the 2 Washington back to back games at MTS Center last season When Ovetchkin was calling the games. There was no referee in the League that would call a penalty in the last 2 minutes of a game tied 3-3 before the days of Bet-mans billion dollar League. This was worse than a dug-out bush league game back in the Country when I was a kid. The worst part is the players and coaches are all gagged and can't say a word about the

**I don't want Winnipeg!!! Their a good team. I'm hoping that there is some obscure rule that allow us to play 3 series against Edmonton to get to the finals!! : )

Khudobin makes 34 saves as Hurricanes top Panthers

**and suddenly all those panther "fans" who railed on me all year for calling it like it is have disappeared and im all thats left. congrats panthers ownership (excluding viola cause we'll judge him this offseason if he doesnt spend the cap) on ur 16th playoffless season in 20 years. we truly are unrivaled

**This just in...Russia invades Kazakhstan in order to claim Khudobin as Russian and their #1 goalie for Sochi

**Not necessary. Khudobin was born in Kazakhstan, but has Russian citizenship. So the Russians should've been looking at him already. Somehow I think they'll be okay with the guys they have though.

**In 2006 The Canes had a goalie by the name of Gerber who ruled the regular season. Come playoffs he fell on his face and a Rookie by the name of Cam Ward who came in and lead the Hurricanes to a Stanley Cup. My point is we are not sure what Khudobin can do in the playoffs, he is untested, but we know what Ward can do. Let's wait until the end of the season and let JR figure this out.

**well I personally have a strong faith in Khudobin. sure he hasn't proven himself in the playoffs YET but I'm confident to say that he'll do that this year with Canes ;)

**that's true, but if khudobin continues his play, he has every right to be the starter and start in the playoffs, if he falls on his face, we put him cam. it doesn't need to be difficult

**Canatic, my point exactly. Keep Cam around until Khudobin proves himself in the playoffs then if we can sign him in the offseason we can trade Cam. But what if we trade Cam now and then Khudobin signs with another team, what do we have then?

**We all know the story. But I'd say we know even less about Khudobin than what he can do in the playoffs. How will he hold up to the workload of a #1 goalie? Granted, he's been a stud since the first of the year, but can he hold up to that kind of load over the course of an 82 game season? The guy hasn't played but half that many games in his entire career so far. I'm definitely a believer, but I'm not ready to crown him as the next Tretiak just yet.

**if we make playoffs, dobby does well in playoffs, then you sign dobby, by that time maybe 50+ games behind him with playoff experience. that amount of work with success should be rewarded by being the starter.

**the 2010-11 season was the last stellar season Cam had. let's not forget. he had a decent 2011-12 season with .915 save% but nothing w-l 30-23. good but not great. granted we had a horrible defense but still.

**That 4-1 lead in the first was deceiving. Panthers had some prime scoring chances (how many posts did they hit? ) after defensive breakdowns. But good win and I Khudobin was again very strong in net. In this division, every game from here on out is pretty much a must win. Hoping Dobby get's the start again tonight and another 2 pts !! Go Canes !

**shuty, you are correct. Everyone is praising Khudobin for his performance last night but we could have lost that game easily if not for some great defense in front of him. His rebound control still scares me. He is winning and until that stops then he stays in net.

**Khudobin is an amazing example of how patience can pay off in this league. He's been around for years putting up numbers that warrant way more starts than he got, yet if he were just a year younger he'd still be eligible for Calder. Instead of just getting frustrated with not getting the starts he probably deserved, he's waited for this chance to shine and now he's running with it. Had my eye on him for years and Im glad to see he's finally getting some real play time.

Blue Jackets top Lightning for fourth straight win

**CBJ are just starting to jell. It was a good test of character to come back in the 3rd and win one! Success breeds confidence and confidence breeds success....etc etc etc Gaborik should be back before the break if he plans to play at Sochi. We will see what kind of a team we really have when (if) everyone gets healthy!

**Great game. Tampa is impressive. Could have gone either way. Furtunate for CBJ fans it came out our way. That was just a big ol' "Whew"!!

**Really great game. Lots of ups and downs all around, man can Horton rifle the puck!! He really has that "it" factor that we've been missing for a long, long time. Props to the Lightning, I'm a believer in them after this one, really great passing team and I have no doubt they will be a playoff team, especially when superstar Stamkos is back

**Wow, this was the first complete Jackets game I watched since they moved in the East, and I'm really happy to have picked this one ! Quite entertaining. The Nationwide Arena really looked to be a pretty awesome place on TV. I'll probably attend a couple of games next season - I'd better take this opportunity since prices will go up if Jackets start to be a playoff contender year after year.

**From the Jackets crew, Horton was the first star, then Letstu and Bobs was the third star (if I remember correctly -- OR maybe those are MY picks, LOL), but the Jackets site says Wiz, Horton, Johansen.

**That's a tough pill to swallow. I don't know how the Letestu goal even made it through the bodies to get to the tip in. Back and fourth games like this are where it's at. Who needs finger nails. Good win, Jackets. By the way, I like your cannons after goals.

**There's a good buzz here right now, our attendance isn't always as good as it was last night. It was a Monday and it felt full, even though you could find empty seats if you looked around. Hockey culture is definitely growing, but still reflects how well were playing.

**On the Jackets broadcast they said going into the game he had averaged exactly a point-per-game in his career against the Lightning ( 46 games ) 26 of which being goals. So yeah, I guess he does love playing you guys lol. I guess it's fitting that his 200th goal came against TBL.

**I think Horton really loves playing the Lightning, when he was a Bruin he demolished us, when he was a Panther he owned us, and his first game as a Jacket against us, surprise surprise

**It's crazy to think this team can flip the switch just like that. The main thing the Jackets do so well is that they will out skate teams later in the game. If the game is close the Jackets seem to get stronger. This is something that was very evident last year. When Bob is in a zone and the Jackets are skating hard and controlling the puck, nights are going to be long for opposing teams. Keep it rolling boys!!! Let's bring down the Capitals!!!

**Yeah, earlier in the season, I was a little worried about their third period play. But man, have they stepped it up recently, especially late. Injuries aren't an excuse, but with 7 of their top guys out for extended periods, I thought they did well to stay at about 0.500 on the season. Now that they're getting healthy, they're REALLY starting to look like the team last spring that made that amazing run. Buckle up, the 2nd half of the season is going to be fun to watch

**The 3 best Lightning players tonight in terms of possession (Corsi For % and Relative Corsi) were all new guys: Cote, Palat, and Kucherov in 3rd. Sure, those first 2 guys had a lot of offensive starts, and it's a mixed bag on quality of competition, but this is still impressive. I believe these guys making a seamless and effective transition to the NHL is the most important part of the Lightning's success this season. I mean, we've been a better possession team without Stamkos than we were with him. And we gotta give the credit to Cooper for this. He put the system in place in Syracuse/Norfolk that allowed the rookies to make the move up. And he's managing the players' ice time and matchups so that everyone is in a position to succeed and build their confidence. Anyway, just giving some fascinating insights into the inner workings of our team.

Ducks' Hiller blanks Red Wings for 14th straight win

**And I'm not disappointed with our effort. We played hard mrazek was great. But once again our pp killed our chance to win this game. We had I think 5 chances to score. Obviously we didn't have our usual pp guys, man I miss mule, but still that's no excuse for the group of guys we have now. Maybe with Bert out now jurco can come up and bring an extra dimension to the pp. I'm still hoping that helm and Pavel will be back by Thursdays game

**Good game guys. despite getting only 2 of 6 californian points this game should still give some confidence heading to NY. I just hope that with Tatar home we will have Dats and Helm back on Thu. Go Wings go! Good luck Ducks

**Historic? Not yet it's not. And the Ducks are on the front page more often than many other teams. Why do you care how often they're on the front page anyway, you know it doesn't affect the games right?

**Ducks are clearly learning from their mistakes the past few seasons. Could be a dangerous team come the end of the year. My hope is that when they fall off this high they are in right now they don't fall hard. When teams do that it's sad to watch. Ducks deserve it so far. Keep playing hard!

**Anaheim's penalty kill moves up to 15th in the league. 81.5% They average the 7th lowest penalty minutes per game at 10.0, Detroit is 5th, San Jose 4th, Chicago 2nd. Randy Carlyles Leafs average the 2nd most penalty minutes per game at 13.5, yeah I dont miss Carlyles style at all. I see the style of his teams hasnt changed much in that regard. Long gone are the Days when the Ducks took 20 penaltys per game against the Red Wings.

**Good win, special season (so far), atrocious officiating. IMO, Detroit is still making the playoffs. Tonight's game reminded me why I loved Babc.o.c.k. as our coach and hate playing against his teams.

**The Ducks have shown some serious signs of resilience to adversity this season. I still contend it's Getzlaf's turnaround. I wanted that dude gone for the last 2 seasons now due to lack of leadership. He took that slapper that opened his face up - and was never played with the same physicality & nasty edge when needed. He has been the key difference on the ice - and his play brings opportunities to others in the lineup. He will be the difference in the postseason, good or bad.

**Would this not make a great SCF series? All these years of us constantly meeting in the playoffs for it to be in the finals for once would be an epic series. GG Wings was closer than I would've liked.

**Of all the times that these two teams have met in the playoffs since the 90's, there's only been two years where the victor didn't go on to the Stanley Cup Finals. It would be pretty neat to see them face off for the Cup.

**Great game till the very end. It's amazing how the crowd and fans seem to get more and more intense/involved every game as this streak goes on. It's really something special to be a part of. Keep it going Ducks!!

**You didnt do anything. the redwings didint do anything either. they got shutout. ducks had some trouble finding the back of the net tonight. no big deal. No captain took them a while to get used to but they handled it.

**Agreed. Red Wings were playing very tight tonight. So were the Ducks. Intense, high-energy, high-blood-pressure game for sure. Good on ya, Wings!

**Butttt the big difference in the washington Ovechkins and Ducks (even from last year) is that Bruce can roll 4 solid lines night in and night out. While in Washington coaching the Ovechkins , he could roll 2, and 2 only.

**Call it luck if it'll make you put down your head smoothly on your pillow at nights :)....Your team/coach was lucky that Bruce didn't pound the center divider in Patrick Roy's face in game one for his psychotic outburst

**In his 14th straight victory, Hiller blocked 22 snubs from the Nhl.com writers and won the game 1-0. The lone goal was scored by the editorial department who told their writers to make the Ducks today's headline.

**the canucks desperately need points but I think the only way the ducks lose is if getzlaf doesnt play hes got 2 extra days off I think he plays wednesday night.

**Yeah but the way the NHL is nowadays due to the fact that they go for offense and points and all that, he won't be in contention. It's not all about "putting up points" . This kid in turning 20 next week or quite soon. Didn't expect to make the NHL roster. Made it , and he has been an amazing player. GREAT Ice vision, Hockey smarts out of this world, playing the opponents top lines and having a +23 i believe now, his skating ability, his hands, outlet /break out passes are amazing, can play both left and right side, can play with any other D man on the team, gets back on D when caught in the O zone, plays the body more now, he's just going to be crazy good for years to come.

Sabres' Miller shines again, defeats Capitals

**I heard a little birdie in the South Florida media that Ryan Milller might be wanting to play in Florida next year. I'm sure Sabres would be unhappy about that, can any Buffalo fans that are more familiar with him confirm/deny that?

**Miller is fantastic and according me for sure he should be nominated for both Hart and Vezina. But fact is also Sabres are nowhere of play-offs. I remember even worse team of Sabres decade ago which was getting each year into play-offs and even to finals. And shoots were not shoots like for rebound or redirection from blue line - it was many empty-net chances and breakaways per game. Roy was best winner and Brodeur guy as consistent as Mount Everest - but compare them to this crazy butterfly and even these two guys were dropping their jaws on ice when they saw these saves. Is actually 39 jersey hanging bellow roof in Buffalo?

**The sabres fans should send the referees thank you cards! This was ridiculous! Without that bad referees and this absolutely amazing Miller (pure respect, this guy is hot), buffalo wouldn't have won this game!

**As a lifelong Sabres fan I have to say it was amazingly classy when the Washington crowd chanted USA after Miller made that stick save. Kudos to Washington fans.

**I was at the game. It was not the Caps fans but the huge Sabres contingency. There was a constant battle in the 400's of "Lets go Buff-a-lo" and "Let's go Caps" all game.

**I'm a bad fan if I don't say that. But dammit I love miller he's a straight beast USA has a great goalie! Regardless of bishops presence, I feel USA has goalie depth like no other especially if Quick plays like he did in his cup run, could you imagine!

**I agree. Who cares where the Sabres are in the standings. After all Miller has gone through, and to still play at an elite level is amazing. It's not his fault he can't score goals for the Sabres.... But he does everything in his power to keep them in games. Without him, I don't even think they'd reach 20 wins this season.

**Should I drop Giordano, Trouba or Sekera to pick Paul Martin up off the waivers? He could be coming back as soon as Wednesday.

**Miller has kept the Sabres from being truly miserable this year. They have a paunchy offense that means any goal Miller (and Enroth) allow could be enough for the win, or at least a point. Miller has done a tremendous job, he surely should be considered for some hardware at season's end if he keeps this pace up.

**Miller is still the #1! I don't understand why anyone ever thought he fell off, the guy's been great for the past 8 He's gonna be the sole reason why USA medals at Sochi (if they manage to score a goal or two).

**He has faced a lot of shots, I think the 2nd most in the league. The Sabres don't score very often, and allow too many shots. If Miller was in Winnipeg, and Pavelec in Buffalo, I believe Noel would still have a job and the Sabres would be lucky to have 20 points at this stage.

**Buffalo, last in the Eastern Conference and last in the NHL, defeats the incompetent but incapable Caps. Hey, McPhee! Hey, Ted! How about another rebuilding year? Only move this crummy team to the far side of the moon.

**Well yeah... In a game where teams score about 2.5 goals/g an extra goal is going to have a huge effect. It's not like another player is going to score in Ovi's place when he doesn't. It just means Ovi's minutes don't lead to a +1 on the scoreboard.

**Ryan Miller Ryan Miller, simply the Best and on a losing team, can't wait til next year and a full season with new management daft picks and some good GM work bring the Sabres bac to Respect and mayb the playoffs.

**There's really only one reason buffalo hasn't been able to win games, they have a hard time scoring goals,I feel like they've scored only 1-2 goals every game, can't even remember when they had a 3 goal game. I mean if they scored more goals this season they would've had a better recored then they do now.

**The team that scores more goals will win the game. Thanks MrBuffalo. But in all seriousness, Buffalo does need pure scorers. A Jeff Carter or two would make this team legitimate. Now if only Buffalo had disposable high value players that aren't Ryan Miller.

**Good Game buffalo, its too bad they had such a rough start to the year theyve been playing so wicked hockey lately, cant believe the save miller made on gabo lol.. just wow, wish we had him maybe we would actually go somewhere in the playoffs.

**It was amazing. Miller is usually a great positional goalie, but that save was pure instinct and talent.

**Refs were totally awful. Caps had five players on the ice in overtime and no call! Not an excuse, of course, since if this team is to amount to something this year they should be able to beat the lowest ranking team in the league and infamous Marc Joannette at the same time. Good job Miller.
