Blue Jackets top Lightning for fourth straight win

**CBJ are just starting to jell. It was a good test of character to come back in the 3rd and win one! Success breeds confidence and confidence breeds success....etc etc etc Gaborik should be back before the break if he plans to play at Sochi. We will see what kind of a team we really have when (if) everyone gets healthy!

**Great game. Tampa is impressive. Could have gone either way. Furtunate for CBJ fans it came out our way. That was just a big ol' "Whew"!!

**Really great game. Lots of ups and downs all around, man can Horton rifle the puck!! He really has that "it" factor that we've been missing for a long, long time. Props to the Lightning, I'm a believer in them after this one, really great passing team and I have no doubt they will be a playoff team, especially when superstar Stamkos is back

**Wow, this was the first complete Jackets game I watched since they moved in the East, and I'm really happy to have picked this one ! Quite entertaining. The Nationwide Arena really looked to be a pretty awesome place on TV. I'll probably attend a couple of games next season - I'd better take this opportunity since prices will go up if Jackets start to be a playoff contender year after year.

**From the Jackets crew, Horton was the first star, then Letstu and Bobs was the third star (if I remember correctly -- OR maybe those are MY picks, LOL), but the Jackets site says Wiz, Horton, Johansen.

**That's a tough pill to swallow. I don't know how the Letestu goal even made it through the bodies to get to the tip in. Back and fourth games like this are where it's at. Who needs finger nails. Good win, Jackets. By the way, I like your cannons after goals.

**There's a good buzz here right now, our attendance isn't always as good as it was last night. It was a Monday and it felt full, even though you could find empty seats if you looked around. Hockey culture is definitely growing, but still reflects how well were playing.

**On the Jackets broadcast they said going into the game he had averaged exactly a point-per-game in his career against the Lightning ( 46 games ) 26 of which being goals. So yeah, I guess he does love playing you guys lol. I guess it's fitting that his 200th goal came against TBL.

**I think Horton really loves playing the Lightning, when he was a Bruin he demolished us, when he was a Panther he owned us, and his first game as a Jacket against us, surprise surprise

**It's crazy to think this team can flip the switch just like that. The main thing the Jackets do so well is that they will out skate teams later in the game. If the game is close the Jackets seem to get stronger. This is something that was very evident last year. When Bob is in a zone and the Jackets are skating hard and controlling the puck, nights are going to be long for opposing teams. Keep it rolling boys!!! Let's bring down the Capitals!!!

**Yeah, earlier in the season, I was a little worried about their third period play. But man, have they stepped it up recently, especially late. Injuries aren't an excuse, but with 7 of their top guys out for extended periods, I thought they did well to stay at about 0.500 on the season. Now that they're getting healthy, they're REALLY starting to look like the team last spring that made that amazing run. Buckle up, the 2nd half of the season is going to be fun to watch

**The 3 best Lightning players tonight in terms of possession (Corsi For % and Relative Corsi) were all new guys: Cote, Palat, and Kucherov in 3rd. Sure, those first 2 guys had a lot of offensive starts, and it's a mixed bag on quality of competition, but this is still impressive. I believe these guys making a seamless and effective transition to the NHL is the most important part of the Lightning's success this season. I mean, we've been a better possession team without Stamkos than we were with him. And we gotta give the credit to Cooper for this. He put the system in place in Syracuse/Norfolk that allowed the rookies to make the move up. And he's managing the players' ice time and matchups so that everyone is in a position to succeed and build their confidence. Anyway, just giving some fascinating insights into the inner workings of our team.

Ducks' Hiller blanks Red Wings for 14th straight win

**And I'm not disappointed with our effort. We played hard mrazek was great. But once again our pp killed our chance to win this game. We had I think 5 chances to score. Obviously we didn't have our usual pp guys, man I miss mule, but still that's no excuse for the group of guys we have now. Maybe with Bert out now jurco can come up and bring an extra dimension to the pp. I'm still hoping that helm and Pavel will be back by Thursdays game

**Good game guys. despite getting only 2 of 6 californian points this game should still give some confidence heading to NY. I just hope that with Tatar home we will have Dats and Helm back on Thu. Go Wings go! Good luck Ducks

**Historic? Not yet it's not. And the Ducks are on the front page more often than many other teams. Why do you care how often they're on the front page anyway, you know it doesn't affect the games right?

**Ducks are clearly learning from their mistakes the past few seasons. Could be a dangerous team come the end of the year. My hope is that when they fall off this high they are in right now they don't fall hard. When teams do that it's sad to watch. Ducks deserve it so far. Keep playing hard!

**Anaheim's penalty kill moves up to 15th in the league. 81.5% They average the 7th lowest penalty minutes per game at 10.0, Detroit is 5th, San Jose 4th, Chicago 2nd. Randy Carlyles Leafs average the 2nd most penalty minutes per game at 13.5, yeah I dont miss Carlyles style at all. I see the style of his teams hasnt changed much in that regard. Long gone are the Days when the Ducks took 20 penaltys per game against the Red Wings.

**Good win, special season (so far), atrocious officiating. IMO, Detroit is still making the playoffs. Tonight's game reminded me why I loved Babc.o.c.k. as our coach and hate playing against his teams.

**The Ducks have shown some serious signs of resilience to adversity this season. I still contend it's Getzlaf's turnaround. I wanted that dude gone for the last 2 seasons now due to lack of leadership. He took that slapper that opened his face up - and was never played with the same physicality & nasty edge when needed. He has been the key difference on the ice - and his play brings opportunities to others in the lineup. He will be the difference in the postseason, good or bad.

**Would this not make a great SCF series? All these years of us constantly meeting in the playoffs for it to be in the finals for once would be an epic series. GG Wings was closer than I would've liked.

**Of all the times that these two teams have met in the playoffs since the 90's, there's only been two years where the victor didn't go on to the Stanley Cup Finals. It would be pretty neat to see them face off for the Cup.

**Great game till the very end. It's amazing how the crowd and fans seem to get more and more intense/involved every game as this streak goes on. It's really something special to be a part of. Keep it going Ducks!!

**You didnt do anything. the redwings didint do anything either. they got shutout. ducks had some trouble finding the back of the net tonight. no big deal. No captain took them a while to get used to but they handled it.

**Agreed. Red Wings were playing very tight tonight. So were the Ducks. Intense, high-energy, high-blood-pressure game for sure. Good on ya, Wings!

**Butttt the big difference in the washington Ovechkins and Ducks (even from last year) is that Bruce can roll 4 solid lines night in and night out. While in Washington coaching the Ovechkins , he could roll 2, and 2 only.

**Call it luck if it'll make you put down your head smoothly on your pillow at nights :)....Your team/coach was lucky that Bruce didn't pound the center divider in Patrick Roy's face in game one for his psychotic outburst

**In his 14th straight victory, Hiller blocked 22 snubs from the Nhl.com writers and won the game 1-0. The lone goal was scored by the editorial department who told their writers to make the Ducks today's headline.

**the canucks desperately need points but I think the only way the ducks lose is if getzlaf doesnt play hes got 2 extra days off I think he plays wednesday night.

**Yeah but the way the NHL is nowadays due to the fact that they go for offense and points and all that, he won't be in contention. It's not all about "putting up points" . This kid in turning 20 next week or quite soon. Didn't expect to make the NHL roster. Made it , and he has been an amazing player. GREAT Ice vision, Hockey smarts out of this world, playing the opponents top lines and having a +23 i believe now, his skating ability, his hands, outlet /break out passes are amazing, can play both left and right side, can play with any other D man on the team, gets back on D when caught in the O zone, plays the body more now, he's just going to be crazy good for years to come.

Sabres' Miller shines again, defeats Capitals

**I heard a little birdie in the South Florida media that Ryan Milller might be wanting to play in Florida next year. I'm sure Sabres would be unhappy about that, can any Buffalo fans that are more familiar with him confirm/deny that?

**Miller is fantastic and according me for sure he should be nominated for both Hart and Vezina. But fact is also Sabres are nowhere of play-offs. I remember even worse team of Sabres decade ago which was getting each year into play-offs and even to finals. And shoots were not shoots like for rebound or redirection from blue line - it was many empty-net chances and breakaways per game. Roy was best winner and Brodeur guy as consistent as Mount Everest - but compare them to this crazy butterfly and even these two guys were dropping their jaws on ice when they saw these saves. Is actually 39 jersey hanging bellow roof in Buffalo?

**The sabres fans should send the referees thank you cards! This was ridiculous! Without that bad referees and this absolutely amazing Miller (pure respect, this guy is hot), buffalo wouldn't have won this game!

**As a lifelong Sabres fan I have to say it was amazingly classy when the Washington crowd chanted USA after Miller made that stick save. Kudos to Washington fans.

**I was at the game. It was not the Caps fans but the huge Sabres contingency. There was a constant battle in the 400's of "Lets go Buff-a-lo" and "Let's go Caps" all game.

**I'm a bad fan if I don't say that. But dammit I love miller he's a straight beast USA has a great goalie! Regardless of bishops presence, I feel USA has goalie depth like no other especially if Quick plays like he did in his cup run, could you imagine!

**I agree. Who cares where the Sabres are in the standings. After all Miller has gone through, and to still play at an elite level is amazing. It's not his fault he can't score goals for the Sabres.... But he does everything in his power to keep them in games. Without him, I don't even think they'd reach 20 wins this season.

**Should I drop Giordano, Trouba or Sekera to pick Paul Martin up off the waivers? He could be coming back as soon as Wednesday.

**Miller has kept the Sabres from being truly miserable this year. They have a paunchy offense that means any goal Miller (and Enroth) allow could be enough for the win, or at least a point. Miller has done a tremendous job, he surely should be considered for some hardware at season's end if he keeps this pace up.

**Miller is still the #1! I don't understand why anyone ever thought he fell off, the guy's been great for the past 8 He's gonna be the sole reason why USA medals at Sochi (if they manage to score a goal or two).

**He has faced a lot of shots, I think the 2nd most in the league. The Sabres don't score very often, and allow too many shots. If Miller was in Winnipeg, and Pavelec in Buffalo, I believe Noel would still have a job and the Sabres would be lucky to have 20 points at this stage.

**Buffalo, last in the Eastern Conference and last in the NHL, defeats the incompetent but incapable Caps. Hey, McPhee! Hey, Ted! How about another rebuilding year? Only move this crummy team to the far side of the moon.

**Well yeah... In a game where teams score about 2.5 goals/g an extra goal is going to have a huge effect. It's not like another player is going to score in Ovi's place when he doesn't. It just means Ovi's minutes don't lead to a +1 on the scoreboard.

**Ryan Miller Ryan Miller, simply the Best and on a losing team, can't wait til next year and a full season with new management daft picks and some good GM work bring the Sabres bac to Respect and mayb the playoffs.

**There's really only one reason buffalo hasn't been able to win games, they have a hard time scoring goals,I feel like they've scored only 1-2 goals every game, can't even remember when they had a 3 goal game. I mean if they scored more goals this season they would've had a better recored then they do now.

**The team that scores more goals will win the game. Thanks MrBuffalo. But in all seriousness, Buffalo does need pure scorers. A Jeff Carter or two would make this team legitimate. Now if only Buffalo had disposable high value players that aren't Ryan Miller.

**Good Game buffalo, its too bad they had such a rough start to the year theyve been playing so wicked hockey lately, cant believe the save miller made on gabo lol.. just wow, wish we had him maybe we would actually go somewhere in the playoffs.

**It was amazing. Miller is usually a great positional goalie, but that save was pure instinct and talent.

**Refs were totally awful. Caps had five players on the ice in overtime and no call! Not an excuse, of course, since if this team is to amount to something this year they should be able to beat the lowest ranking team in the league and infamous Marc Joannette at the same time. Good job Miller.
