Benn (6 points), Seguin (4 goals) lead Stars by Flames

**Disappointing and an unexpected loss. Nevertheless, it is difficult to determine the lack of chemisry in the team. they seem so confident prior to the game!

**huge stars fan so u could say i'm very happy with the trade so far but what it really does is take away a bit of the sting from the neal for goligoski trade although goligoski has played very well and so its not so bad as it was and just getting rid of niskanen made me very happy ! that being said 50 goals should be within reach for tyler if he stays healthy and him and benn stick together so huge win for dallas and wow how about that benn kid 6 points !! looks like the stars along with nichuskin all of a sudden look like a scary future opponent

**From the minute I heard about the Seguin trade, I thought the Stars stole a superstar away from the Bruins. This game proves that Boston gave up on Seguin too early. All the bruins needed to do to get Seguin production was to give him ice time with one of their top two lines.

**You are absolutely right the 2nd line was in fact the 1st line. The problem was Tyler Seguin was drained he lost the will to play, Tyler felt smothered & un-appreciated he needed comfort & understanding so he chased cat & drank silver bullets in order too escape the nightmare that was thrust upon him by Claude. Here in Dallas Ft. Worth Tyler will blossom into a superstar & all the beautiful Texas Gals will fall on his lap.

**actually i'm not sure he is human, possibly a robot that just need some oil on the gears, he's mechanically the perfect hockey player, watch fans, he will be on a steady incline, and won't slow down, he will be respected as one of the best in years to come

**Jim Nill has done a fantastic job since taking over the reigns of the GM position in Dallas, the hiring of Lindy Ruff in my opinion was the Coup de Gras , Lindy could have signed with any big market teams & made a fortune, but Lindy chose stability. The addition Valeri Nichushkin a rookie playing on the 1st line with Tyler Seguin & Jamie Benn is a breathe of fresh air & a move that will payoff handsomely in the near future.

**I must say Dallas is doing really well. wildcard spot contendor. Seguin and Benn look like beasts. Everyone has a day where everything goes in (Gagner against Chicago), and this was their night. Boston gave up way to early on Seguin.

**Agreed ! The Bruins are a very good team no doubt about it, its their system of play that hinders their player's abilities to perform & develope into super stars. Once they're free from the excruciating painful clutches of Claude Julien they blossom. For exemple, Phil Kessel , Tyler Seguin , Rich Peverley & soon it will be Nathan Horton's turn.

**im pretty sure we won a cup and got into a cup final within the past 4 years. Some players arent ment to be in a defensive structured system. tyler seguin is a great player, he will be a super star, he just wasnt what a bruin is.

**Both Seguin and Peverley didnt fit our system. Guys like Lucic and Bergeron and now Iginla are what the Bruins are looking for. We dont have finesse. We have power. Dallas is a much better fit for those guys to flourish. As for Horton, I think Boston was a perfect fit for him. I dont see him flourishing like Seguin and Pevs.

**Meh, not really. Horton's problem since he was drafted #3 was that he refused to acknowledge he was 6'3" 230. He continues to think of himself as a skill player, but he's never realized that when size is an advantage the skill is in using your advantage.

**Stifled ! Yes you are absolutely correct Tyler Seguin was stifled by Claude, just like Phil Kessel was. Which means that Star player's or 1st round draft picks should politely ask the Bruins management thank you , but no thanks we prefer too play elsewhere where we can flourish instead of going into pergutory

**You're missing the point. Its not being a star or being a top round pick, its about wanting to play the game vs. wanting to be a floater. Kessel was too stupid to comprehend defense. Seguin was not as big a bust as Kessel and actually played defense effectively. But there was no room for him to play center on this team.

**He would if stone face Julian would let him play on a line with Krejci and Lucic and just let him score. Julian is a goal scorer killer not everyone can be Patrice Bergeron. I love the bruins but Seguin is still my Favorite player. dont be surprised if I get a dallas seguin Jersey.

**I always thought the Flames had better fans than the Oilers. Seeing people whine in the first season of a rebuild about losing though is quite disheartening. Every team ever that went through rebuilds had bad games/seasons. At least the Flames have yet to lose by a margin of 8 goals unlike the Avs a few seasons ago... Also, not trying to diss the Avs, they're doing fantastic this season and it's great to see.

**That was a compliment. Oilers fans have had so much patience through this. Flames fans are complaining 20 games into the first season of the full rebuild. I wasn't trying to diss anyone. Obviously I would be partial to the Flames and their fans being a fan of them myself. Calm down man.

**Seguin was always great against bad competition. Love how everyone who sees a few goals versus a bad team, with awful goaltending, suddenly is like "Bruins really made a terrible trade...blah blah blah" hahaha. Yep, we'll see where Dallas finishes the next few years and where the Bruins finish.

**agreed, but I think this was a great trade for all involved. Seguin wouldn't have done this in the B's system. The trade was good for him, get a kick in the pants and get into a new environment that's a little more open, good for him. So far I like Smith and Eirksson got hurt but I'm confident he'll be strong for us. I'm happy all around.

**in three seasons seguin never had a 4 goal game and im not even sure he ever had a hat trick ever but he does it in the first twenty games with a new team. just like kessel tyler wasn't a good fit in boston period, boston will never have a power house goal scorer or atleast during juliens era with defensive play

**Exactly what do you mean by "waited him out like Hawks did with Kane?" Yes, Kane had off-ice issues- most notably the Buffalo incident- but their situations were completely different. By the time the Buffalo incident happened, Kane had already won a Calder and had had a monster playoff showing in 2009. Wasn't a tough decision really to "wait on him." Not disregarding the fact that Bruins did give up quickly on Seguin, but he just didn't have comparable numbers to make things "easier" a la Kane and Chicago.

**I don't know about Boston not focusing on youth..... Krug, Bergeron (on team since he was 18), Rask, Bartkowski, etc.. but you're right that Seguin just wasn't the right fit. Doesn't take anything away from the B's or Seguin, just not the right fit.

**By his 2nd goal it was beginning to become the Stars game. No reason to show boat when you are up by as much as we were. Seguin also had a huge smile on his 3rd and 4th goals--pure class by the Stars last night. Go Stars!!!

**Yes Stifled him because its Claude Julien's system and how the coaching staff is not very forgiving in its young talent (until recently with Hamilton, Bart, and Krug). But we also have to remember how much center depth we have in our organization. Some would say it is the best in the NHL. (obviously others will disagree) now that he is able to play his drafted position he is showing why he was the 2nd overall pick drafted at the center position. Good luck Segs!

**Yea kind of upsetting after what we saw him do in 2012 with us and now hes on pace for a even better year. I wish the kid luck. Ill still watch him because i watched/followed him in the OHL as well. Hes one of my favorite players with Bergy beating him out. But Good for him!

**I'd say the most impressive thing about him is how strong he is on the puck, very much like Jagr in that he uses his big body well to where its really hard to knock him off the puck, which as seen in this game, frees up space for benn and seguin.

**Absolutely. He may have only had two points in this game, but his impact was much bigger than that. He set a great screen for Robidas' goal, and his ability to stay strong on the puck and clear out defenders for Benn and Seguin to make plays is invaluable. He's really going to be a very, very special player.
