Read, Downie power Flyers past Sabres
**Would love to get an explanation on that 10min penalty on Rinaldo. Oh and the tripping one on Giroux. Wake up Refs if the ref looking at the play from 10 feet seeing puck contact before Myers falling... News flash it isn't a penalty. It is just Myers falling over another players stick.**In all honesty, it was a blown call on Ott but not expected he has always been able to do that. I don't mind what Rosehill did, as I will always take a penalty when defending a teammate. But at the same time both he and Rinaldo needed to show more discipline there, because it was clear Ott was trying to even the manpower.
**Ott is a tougher player, but if you for a second think that Rinaldo isn't a good fighter then you haven't watched him much if any. And Ott is the disturber and Rinaldo is the fighter.
**Man the Defensive system is really looking great. Were actually shutting people down in the neutral zone.... what? I really hope that this can be our team for the rest of the season. Guys are coming out of their slumps, and Coburn is actually looking good. Plus you cant forget our goaltending, lovin Mason, not so much Emery since that Caps game. 1 game from 500 and 3 points out of the playoffs with a game in hand.
**You have a lot of young talent, and will be on the up swing too. Also if Ryan Miller keeps playing like he has been you will get two first rounders for him!
**Total bull. 2 5-3s 4-3. Refs giftwrapped this one for the Flyers. As usual Sabres nation is up against the hatred of the entire administrative and officiating bodies of the NHL. I hope your families die and I hope you all burn in hell. How is 4 on 4 come out of scrum when two players jump another. Last week Scott got ejected when he got body-slammed without retaliating and now...so done with the NHL. The sabres may be a terrible team this year but making sure with extremely one-sided calling is always a great way to keep things lopsided
**are you referring to the 4-4 that came out of Ott not getting a penalty after slamming rinaldo causing the play to go 4-4 onstead of a flyers penalty? or are you referring to seconds later when he punched a flyer then rinaldo got ejected for yelling at him for it? sounds and looked to me like if anything teh refs were trying to help your terrible team get back in a game.
**If they have guys that play like Ott, Scott and Kaleta - they deserve a lot more. Ott got away with quite a few cheap hits. One of these days someone is going to break his uggly yapping jaw. What a leader - only 3 goals!
**you have no idea what you are talking about. When looking at a goalie to bring to your team save% is the best stat to look at. And don't forget the Isles haven't done much winning recently that's why a team that started 1-7 is ahead of them in the standings
**I was going to come here and shame the Sabres for losing to Philly, but we're 0-2 against them this season and Giroux scored in none of those games, so I'm just go sit in a corner.
**DO YOU WATCH THE FLYERS? Obviously not and if you do your one of those people that wishes they would bring back the electronic puck so you could follow it. Hartnell looks good out there in all zones
**G is far far far from a sniper. He has a decent wrist shot but thats about it. He is a playmaker hands down, he is always 2-1 on assists to goals. Voracek could potentially be a sniper. This is why the most productive this team has been all season was with vinny up on the G line.
**Why change something that isn't broken???? They have all built chemistry and everyone on the top 9 is producing but you want to change it for what? I guess that is why you don't get paid to make any decisions
**I agree with you, but it is always fun to throw out these kind of decision. I actually think that was one of Lavys weaknesses, he changed lines way too much and never let chemistry develop.
**Its time 4 Simms to be on first line w G and Jake. Simms is much better in front of net at screening etc...he fights for pucks like no other...and G would make other team pay for sending 2 to 3 defenders in corner to try and get puck from Simms....Harsy goes to 2nd line and gets the message! His play gets better....EVERYBODY WINS! But I LOVE WAYNE SIMMONDS! Such a GREAT SCRAPER, and EXCELLENT PLAYER all around!
**Yea, I didn't know how to react to it at first but I think its a solid trade for both teams. We have so many guys who can play well on both ends of the ice, though, like Couturier, Giroux, Read, Hall and Rinaldo and Downie has been a great addition, playing with Read and Couturier (two players who since their rookie years, look like they were born to play together).
**Nobody ever claime L Schenn to be on offensive D man. He is stay at home so his shot getting blocked is no big deal . He is moving the puck out of his own zone better and isn't turning it over and as always hes a hitting and shot blocking machine. Not everyone is Mike Green or Eric Karlsson.
**He is a POLAR BEAR ON SKATES:) I mean that in a VERY GOOD WAY....I dnt know if any of u read the article about him but he was hurt last year and played through it....and he was still our best D man....Grossman said, now that I'm healthy I feel great and he attributes playing w Streit but the article also said HOW MUCH PADDING HE WEARS!!!! As a PREMIER SHOT BLOCKER its obviously necessary. But it gets so sweaty and damp that in puts more weight on him, slowing him down towards ends of periods...so, he has to do it all over again during 2nd and 3rd intermission. WHAT A TEAM GUY! KEEP IT ROLLING FLYERS!!!! And what a difference having not 1 but 2 great goalies! Karma has swung back to us! We can beat any team in EC...and our first line hasn't even got started yet! Downie, is a HUGE SIGN and COOTS is out of his sophomore slump in his 3rd year!
**I love the flyers very much, but if they offer him the GM position in Buffalo he will probably take it. Plus they have openly said multiple times that they are being patient and don't expect results immediately. Sounds like a sweet deal for a new GM if they are willing to put the effort in. Regardless who the new GM will be, if they get some results and then the team looks good in a few years they will probably have some decent job security which is better than an assistant GM behind a guy who keeps his job just because he played on the team years back.
**The current Sabres aren't the worst in past expansion NHL, but if it wasn't for Miller and bad officiating they would be: 1980-81 Winnipeg Jets Record: 9–57–14 1975-1976 Kansas City Scouts Record: 12-56-12 1992-93 Ottawa Senators Record: 10–70–4 1992–93 San Jose Sharks Record: 11–71–2 1974–75 Washington Capitals Record: 8–67–5 2013-14 Buffalo Sabres Record so far 5-18-1 in 24 games with Point Percentage of .229 and scoring 1.67 goals per game on average
