Canucks rally past Capitals for fourth straight win
**mojosodope; well the Canucks are 9-4-1 and the Rangers are 3-7-0, our top line has had its most productive October ever, and the Canucks have adjusted to the new style of play way better than the Rangers have. True, there are still 65+ games left and anything can happen but it's lookin like we won**Keslerman; No matter how the Canucks end up doing this season, I love that they brought in Torts. Why? This guy is just a great person. I don't know if anybody saw the post-game, but a young reporter with Downs syndrome got a guest interview and Torts was patient and friendly with him. After the interview, he asked the kid if he really did want to be a sports journalist and let him know if there's anything him or the organization could help him with, to just tell Torts. He brings pride and class to this organization. Contrary to what Brooksy felt in New York, I'm glad he represents our city.
**CerpinTaxt; Exactly. Same with Philly I feel. People who think NYR and Philly are going to play the same all year are going to be surprised. I think Philly has a great chance of either making top 3 in the division or getting one of those wild card spots. Just need to get everything clicking, like the Caps.
**tcsloan44; I understand that Ovi is the captain and everything but I feel like he feels all of the pressure is on him. In my opinion, the more help he gets and the less pressure on him to produce, the more he will produce. Granted he has been producing but in games like this I think it makes his focus too much on him scoring and carrying the team. Loved Chimera's game tonight, good goal and awesome assist.
**Anonymous; Thing about Crosby is, when he is hurt, the Pens still play the same. He does make the team better, but they dont suffer much with him out of the lineup. (see their records when crosby was out last year and the year before). However, if OV isnt donimating, the Caps just lose, again, see last years wins and loses and compare them to OVs points those games.
**Zxic3 days ago That's not what I noticed. When 87 and 71 are not on the ice the Pens look very easy to play. Reflecting on the stats we had Colton Orr our enforcer having 90% Corsi (10 SF, 1 SA) against the Pens this season. He was on the third line and just manhandled Sutter's line. How often do lines get dominated by enforcers from the play instead of the fights? Next to never but the Pens managed to let it happen. I don't possibly see how the Pens will play the same without their two star centers.
**Eliar; I believe the team made AV look better. 2010/2011 was a franchise year for the Canucks and the next year we weren't nearly as sound defensively or potent offensively (even with the same coach and largely the same core).
**wings_13; yeah you gotta admit that. they finally got lundqvuist back but their offense is missing nash, haglin, callahan and i think thats it. ..they had no problems giving the wings a hard time though
**CerpinTaxt; Man, Nuevy was in great position all night but he was giving up the juiciest of rebounds and it caused that second goal after we got momentum from the Grabo goal. But I can't blame him, our defense still has issues obviously. We really need another 4 guy. Our bottom 3 have a combined total of like 40 games before they started playing. I would not be surprised to see Orlov called up for the Philly game. He's been killing it in the AHL lately.
**Savard18; Simply put mr jason chimera, your hockey team is awful...it's not rocket science...mr ovechkin, great game, missed penalty shot, 0 points and a plus/minus of -2...but I'm sure he'll get 3 goals against the Flyers and he'll be a rock star once again
**Anonymous; I dont think the caps have outshot a team this season. Twice they have had periods with 3 shots. The way they are playing they dont deserve to win. Pity, had hopes they would be good with Oates this year.
**j3gallatin; hardest working line on team...need for PT to tire opponents out down low. should play them right before bringing on top line more. 4th line is weak as heck. feel bad for FEHR stuck with wilson and whomever else. I think FEHR has actually played well
**Tony_Pepperoni; They have to keep up in this new division. They are 9-4-1 to start the season which sounds fantastic until you realize they have 2 games in hand on most of the other teams and could easily be in 5th with the Kings, Yotes, and Ducks hot on their heals. It's crazy.
**Kovu; Yes and no. The first period went both ways and there were bursts during the second and third where Washington played well. Last 10 minutes of the third Washington was the better team. Moreover, while there were a lot of good scoring chances for Vancouver, the number is diluted by simple "put the puck on the net" shots.
**nucksforlife_10116; The games are shown on the Vancouver Canucks hockey channel which is channel 302 in HD or 326 SD. Those are PPV channels but it's free to access them, for me at least.
**Alex Yuk; The Caps defense has been just atrocious of late. We need to call up Orlov or something. Wake up the defense, tell em their job is on the line. Erskine is too slow. Mike Green is just not a defenseman. Urbom and Oleksy seem to be the only decent defensemen on our team. Alzner and Carlson dont look like they deserve to make the Olympic rosters.
**sekhon12; Tanev is so underrated, he has quietly picked up six points and leads the team in blocked shots. The kid is definitely due for a pay day if he keeps up at this rate.
**humble_kid; Okay I read all the comments about this game but there seems no mention of the faceoff percentage. Caps were really bad tonight at the faceoff circle. How do you expect to have offence if the other team always wins the faceoff and has the puck. Even burrows (a wing) won faceoffs tonight. Caps seriously need to work on that as well.
**Alex Yuk; Puck possession was just all around bad for the Caps. 19-41 shots is just ludicrous. The score may have been close but the Caps didnt look that great. Only cause Neuvy played stellar. Still better than the abortion of a game against the Flames.
** red; Wasn't a great game for the Caps, but 3-2 is a better indicator of the game than 41-19 - The shot totals reflects the Canucks' new shot blocking/ shoot-from-anywhere mentality. Luongo's gonna take a hit to his save percentage; Hopefully the rest of the 'nucks don't get too beat up taking hits from all those pucks.
